Job summary

Sanders Brothers Construction Company is seeking a qualified Utilities Foreman to manage day-to-day water, sewer and storm drain installation and repair operations, supervise a crew, and ensure safety and productivity on projects.

The role requires leadership, field knowledge of trenching, grade stakes, and equipment operation, with a focus on quality, compliance with SBCC policies, and coordination with inspectors and customers.

Qualifications

• Five years experience managing a utility pipeline crew.
• Knowledge of and experience reading, understanding, and implementing drawings.
• Basic mathematical skills are required.
• Thorough knowledge of and ability to properly establish bench marks and grades.
• Must have communication skills to lead craftspeople in labor, equipment operation and other duties.
• Based on duties, may be required to obtain DOT medical certification.
• Must obtain a negative drug test result prior to hire and maintain throughout term of employment.
• Must meet SBCC's employment standards with regards to background checks.
• Must have the ability to stand, crawl and kneel for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day water, sewer, and storm drain utility pipeline operations.
• Direct a crew as a working foreman and perform skilled work in installation and repair of water and sewer facilities.
• Supervise utilities brick mason crew on site.
• Establish grades off a benchmark.
• Supervise installation of underground utilities including water, sewer and storm drain.
• Ensure safety practices and trench box usage.
