About The Job You're Considering

The Utilities Industry Managing Businss Advisor is a senior industry practitioner who brings deep expertise in electric power generation, transmission, and distribution directly to U.S.-based utility clients.

This is a client-focused delivery role: you will be embedded in engagements as the domain authority who translates deep sector knowledge into business outcomes, working alongside Capgemini delivery teams to drive results for electric utilities.

You will deploy as an industry subject matter expert, business analyst, product owner, or transformation program leader, depending on the needs of each engagement. Your value is grounded in real-world electric utility experience across grid modernization, AMI 2.0, ADMS, ISO/RTO markets, and the clean energy transition, not just consulting frameworks.

Business Advisors shape the vision and strategy with the client, understand the needs of the users/stakeholders, carry out an elicitation of processes, data and capabilities and derive the target processes and the business. Define, plan and manage the business analysis approach, scope and team in terms of Business Analysis delivery for a project/program. Identify and interact with the key stakeholders to obtain further clarity, sign off and manage escalations. Actively fosters BA best practices across engagements.

Your Role
  • Serve as the primary industry subject matter expert on electric utility client engagements, providing domain authority across generation, transmission, and distribution operations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • May be deployed as a utilities SME in client-site operations engagements spanning Smart Metering and Data Management, Supply Chain, and Meter-to-Cash and Collections, growing opportunities into consulting and business transformation projects.
  • Provide advisory and implementation support for AMI 2.0 programs, including smart meter strategy, network architecture, head-end systems, MDM platform selection, and meter data analytics for electric distribution utilities.
  • Guide clients through ADMS, OMS, and DMS implementations, helping bridge OT requirements with IT delivery realities, grid operations workflows, and utility business objectives.
  • Advise on DER management (DERMS) strategies, including distributed solar, battery storage, EV charging integration, demand response, and virtual power plant orchestration at scale.
  • Support transmission and generation clients on EMS, SCADA, energy market participation, ISO/RTO operations, and asset performance management programs.
  • Translate complex electric utility business processes, grid operations challenges, and regulatory requirements into clear requirements and actionable recommendations for delivery teams.
  • Lead or contribute to client discovery sessions, current-state assessments, business case development, and technology roadmaps grounded in electric power sector realities.
  • Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders including VP and C-suite utility executives, acting as a domain authority who bridges the gap between business priorities and technology execution.
  • Lead client workshops, regulatory strategy sessions, and steering committee presentations with structured thinking and power sector insight.
Your Skills And Experience
  • 12+ years of experience within or supporting the electric power industry, including generation, transmission, or distribution environments.
  • Deep knowledge of Smart Grid and grid modernization, including utility operations, technology, and regulatory considerations.
  • Experience with utility technologies including AMI 2.0, ADMS, SCADA, DMS, OMS, EMS, DERMS, and related IT/OT integrations and data flows.
  • Strong understanding of transmission, generation, and distribution operations, including energy markets, ISO/RTO participation, renewable integration, storage, EVs, and distributed energy resources.
  • Knowledge of the U.S. utility regulatory environment, including FERC, NERC CIP, state PUC requirements, and integrated resource planning.
  • Proven consulting/client-facing experience as an industry SME, business analyst, product owner, or program manager, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel to U.S. client sites as required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Business, or a related field required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Consulting or advisory experience with a leading professional services, utility advisory, or systems integration firm.
  • Experience with major utility platforms such as Oracle Utilities CC&B/C2M, SAP IS-U/S/4 Utilities, Itron, Landis+Gyr, Sensus, GE Vernova, or Schneider Electric.
  • Experience with clean energy, grid resilience, customer experience transformation, renewable integration, battery storage, or dynamic/time-of-use pricing programs.
