Job description

Responsibilities:

1. Involved in both strategic planning and day-to-day operations, particularly in relation to buildings and premises including procurement, budget administration and contract management.
2. Provide technical support and advice to assure that operational activities are performed in compliance with corporate/government policies and regulations in a cost-effective way and within the timelines established by the customer.
3. Manage technical issues/problems appropriately and efficiently.
4. Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.
5. Monitor work areas and examine tools and equipment in order to detect unsafe conditions or violations of procedures or safety rules.
6. Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance.
7. Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.
8. Manage the employee’s Time Keeping equipment/software function process.
9. Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
10. Exhibit a customer-oriented behavior, by clearly understanding customers’ needs and expectations, and anticipating possible barriers or obstacles that may impact the project(s) adversely and communicating these on a timely manner.
11. Guarantee top quality of services provided to client by reviewing work performed, documentation submitted, obtaining client feedback and monitoring project status vs. client requirements.
12. Issue Performance Review Report to employees under his/her supervision and monitor the process below direct report.
13. Create/develop customer relations and new business opportunities.
14. Promote excellent relationship with Mentor clients, encouraging an open dialog and trustful communication between both parties demonstrating a professional conduct at all times and proudly represent Mentor at all levels and places.
15. Alert management when problems are identified and make recommendations for improvements.

Qualifications Requirements/Knowledge/Education/Skills:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or related fields preferred.
2. At least 10 years of experience on direct exposure managing plant utilities/facilities operations.
3. At least eight (8) years hands-on experience as Utilities/Facilities Maintenance with full responsibility for business operations (planning, budget administration, contracting and cost saving initiatives).
4. This role requires a skilled senior manager with pharma engineering experience, compliance and safety focused.
5. Strong operational experience and experience of dealing in a challenging environment.
6. Knowledge and experience in pharmaceutical, medical device or biotechnology manufacturing is required.
7. Willing to work irregular hours, rotating shifts, weekends and holidays when needed.

Physical Requirements and Working Environment:

1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate equipment, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, talk, or hear; sit; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and smell. The employee may lift and/or move up to 25-35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
2. The employee may frequently work inside under various weather conditions, near moving mechanical parts, exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and an odorous atmosphere. The employee may be exposed to fumes and the risk of electrical shock, and occasionally work on ladders in high places, in small spaces, such as lift/metering stations, manholes, tanks, and wet wells. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud.
