Job summary

United States Steel Corporation seeks an Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Operator to support production through ultrasonic inspection and NDT testing of materials and equipment in an industrial setting.

The role requires UT Level I/II certification, at least 1 year of NDT experience, and the ability to work shifts with safety as a priority; comprehensive benefits, overtime pay, and 401(k) provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in NDT inspection.
• Certification requirements: UT Level I & II.
• Ability to interpret production work orders and ensure correct services are performed.
• Strong understanding of NDT equipment setup, calibration, and documentation practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an industrial environment.
• Successful completion of Visual Acuity and Color Perception examinations.

Responsibilities

• Perform full body ultrasound inspection of material as needed.
• Ensure safety, quality and efficiency department policy and procedures are being met.
• Must have NDT Level II UT - On the Job Training Completed- Instruments Knowledge Required.
• Shearwave - Thickness gauge.
• Must perform imperfection evaluation on OCTG products.
• All inspection functions to maximize productivity, including setup and calibration.
