Job description

BAE Systems is seeking a Material Control Specialist (MCS) to join its organization.

Responsibilities:

1. Handle all aspects of material handling functions including but not limited to receiving, transporting, storing, and ensuring accurate inventory in the warehouse and other store locations within the plant.
2. Open containers using hand tools
3. Count, weigh, and sample materials
4. Utilize computer systems for tracking, logging, verifying, and recording information.
5. Handle the loads and unloads of materials onto or from pallets, trays, multi-level racks, and machines by hand
6. Load or unload materials into or from trucks by hand or with equipment.
7. Operate equipment including forklifts (electric or diesel powered), pickers, and pallet jacks (electric or manual).
8. Follow all departmental material handling practices and procedures along with customer requirements, prioritizing safety.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years relevant work experience
• Proficient forklift operator
• Experience in warehousing or manufacturing environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic math skills
• Willing to work in a team environment
• Ability to physically lift objects up to 40 lbs. independently
• Availability to work overtime as needed

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Experience with Oracle-based MRP system
• Ability to use Zebra handheld scan gun equipment
