Job summary

Leidos Inc. is seeking a Mate with a USCG 500Tons Oceans license and STCW certificates to support the O/MUSV program based in Port Hueneme, CA. The Mate will lead navigation, cargo operations, vessel maintenance, and safety programs aboard USV and support vessels, with rotations of up to 28 days and potential overtime.

Responsibilities include watchstanding, cargo loading, records maintenance, and ensuring SMS compliance under the Master. US citizenship and Navy access clearance are required.

Qualifications

• USCG 500 tons Oceans Mate endorsement with STCW certificates.
• USCG Medical Certificate.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be able to gain access to US Navy bases.
• Arduous deployment environment experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Report to USV Master and Deputy Port Captain for pier side and afloat USV operations.
• Participate in seamanship duties as required including small craft operation.
• Assist in preparation, preservation, and cleanliness of assigned vessel, and any associated equipment.
• Coordinate pre/post mission craft readiness functions.
• May assist in vessel security and visitor control function.
• Participate in Leidos and Government safety programs.
