    Collect admission tickets and passes from guests; assist in finding seats, searching for lost articles, and locating such facilities as restrooms and concession stands.

    The Mid-America Center is the Heartland's premier entertainment and convention center. The multi-purpose facility is the metro area's link to the ultimate in live entertainment and sporting events. From rock shows to family shows and much more, the arena has hosted top names in show business as well as numerous community events.

    Job Duties:

    • Greet customers, patrons, or visitors.
    • Provide event information to patrons.
    • Collect admission tickets and passes from patrons at entertainment events.
    • Settle seating disputes or help solve other customer concerns.
    • Mediate disputes.
    • Resolve customer complaints or problems.
    • Examine tickets or passes to verify authenticity, using criteria such as color or date issued.
    • Verify patron or staff credentials.
    • Provide assistance with patrons' special needs, such as helping those with wheelchairs.
    • Guide patrons to exits or provide other instructions or assistance in case of emergency.
    • Usher patrons to seats or exits.
    • Verify credentials of patrons desiring entrance into authorized persons areas.
    • Refuse admittance to undesirable persons or persons without tickets or passes.
    • Distribute programs to patrons.
    • Assist patrons by giving directions to points in or outside of the facility or providing information about local attractions.
    • Provide patrons with directions to locales or attractions.
    • Assist patrons in finding seats, lighting the way with flashlights, if necessary.
    • Maintain order and ensure adherence to safety rules.
    • Monitor environment to ensure safety.
    • Search for lost articles or for parents of lost children.
    • Search all bags for outside food and beverages and anything unsafe.

    Qualifications:

    • Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills and enjoy working with the public.
    • Must have a good speaking voice and the ability to improvise and be a quick thinker.
    • Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
    • Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift.
    • Must present a well-groomed appearance and meet all requirements of company/property appearance standards.
    • Must be able to work independently and with little supervision.
    • Must be able to maneuver throughout event areas.
    • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, crouch, stoop, kneel, crawl, twist, and balance when in front of or interacting with guests.
    • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
    • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
    • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke.
