Usher/Ticket Taker - On Call (Mid-America Center)

The Mid-America Center is the Heartland's premier entertainment and convention center, hosting a variety of events including concerts, family shows, and community gatherings. We are seeking an on-call usher/ticket taker to assist with guest services during events.

Job Responsibilities

• Greet guests, collect tickets, and verify their authenticity.
• Assist guests in finding seats, locating facilities, and providing event information.
• Manage crowd control and ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Search for lost articles and assist with lost children.
• Handle customer concerns and resolve disputes professionally.
• Distribute programs and provide directions to local attractions.
• Monitor environment for safety and enforce rules.
• Assist patrons with special needs, including wheelchair assistance.
• Guide patrons to exits and provide emergency instructions if necessary.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Good speaking voice, quick thinking, and improvisation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work any day and shift, including nights and weekends.
• Well-groomed appearance per company standards.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, bend, crouch, and lift up to 20 pounds.
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Ability to tolerate areas with secondary smoke.
