Job summary

ADP, Inc. is seeking a UI/UX Designer to own end-to-end user experience and interface design for a mission-critical modernization application.

You’ll translate user needs and investigative workflows into intuitive, accessible, and visually engaging designs for federal, state, and local agencies. The role emphasizes collaboration with solution architects, developers, stakeholders, and product teams, ensures Section 508/WCAG compliance, and supports Agile/Scrum development through iterative design

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• 4+ years UI/UX design experience, preferably for complex web/enterprise apps.
• Proficiency with wireframing and prototyping tools (Adobe XD or equivalent).
• Experience designing accessible interfaces per Section 508/WCAG.

Responsibilities

• Conduct user research and workflow analysis to develop personas and journeys.
• Create wireframes, mockups, high-fidelity prototypes, templates, and front-end UI elements.

Position Summary: The UI/UX Designer is responsible for the end-to-end user experience and interface design of a mission-critical modernization application. The role translates user needs and real-world investigative workflows into intuitive, accessible, responsive, and visually engaging designs for users across federal, state, and local agencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct user research and workflow analysis to understand functional needs and develop user personas, journeys, and user-centered design solutions.
• Create wireframes, mockups, high-fidelity prototypes, templates, and other front-end design elements using Adobe XD or similar tools.
• Collaborate with solution architects, developers, stakeholders, and product teams to translate business and technical requirements into effective UI/UX designs.
• Conduct usability testing, evaluate designs against recognized usability principles, document findings, and incorporate feedback into design improvements.
• Ensure designs comply with Section 508 and WCAG accessibility standards, including keyboard navigation, screen-reader compatibility, and appropriate color contrast.
• Develop and maintain consistent user interfaces aligned with established UI/UX style guides and component-based design standards.
• Support Agile/Scrum development by providing designs and prototypes for user stories and collaborating with development teams throughout each sprint.
• Track usability findings and UI/UX metrics, including task success rates, user feedback, and resolution of identified usability issues.
• Participate in user research and field activities, including travel to customer locations as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of UI/UX design experience, preferably supporting complex web or enterprise applications.
• Proficiency with Adobe XD or comparable wireframing and prototyping tools.
• Experience designing accessible interfaces in accordance with Section 508/WCAG standards.
• Demonstrated experience with user-centered design, usability testing, responsive design, and translating research findings into actionable design improvements.
• Strong creative, technical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Background Investigation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with federal government, law enforcement, case management, or incident-reporting systems; Agile/Scrum development environments; component-based design systems; responsive/device-agnostic design; GIS/map-based interfaces; and data visualization.
