Job summary

WHOOP Labs in Boston seeks a User Experience Researcher II to conduct end-to-end research shaping WHOOP products and member experiences across hardware, software, ML, and emerging tech. You’ll work with Product, Design, ML Research, and Hardware teams to uncover insights that influence decision-making and drive healthspan outcomes.

You will execute mixed-method studies, design research plans, recruit and engage participants, analyze data, and translate findings into actionable recommendations

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience conducting user research in product, technology, healthcare, or related environments.
  • Experience leading mixed-method studies from study design to analysis and synthesis.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in User Experience Research, HCI, Psychology, or related field.
  • Passion for health, human performance, and WHOOP’s mission.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to translate findings for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Execute end-to-end user research projects across the product development lifecycle, from study planning and participant engagement through analysis, synthesis, and reporting.
  • Select and apply qualitative and quantitative research methods to answer product and business questions, including interviews, usability studies, surveys, diary studies, concept evaluations, and field research.
  • Partner with Product, Design, Machine Learning Research, Hardware, and other cross-functional stakeholders to align on research objectives and support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Synthesize research findings into clear insights and actionable recommendations that inform product development and member experience improvements.
  • Lead sequential research projects while maintaining high-quality execution, clear communication, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Explore and evaluate emerging research methods, tools, and AI-enabled workflows, helping expand the team’s methodological toolkit while maintaining rigor.

  • WHOOP is hiring a User Experience Researcher II to join WHOOP Labs in Boston. In this role, you will conduct research that helps shape the future of WHOOP products and member experiences across hardware, software, machine learning, and emerging technologies

2+ years of experience conducting user research in product, technology, healthcare, or other customer-focused environments

Experience independently conducting mixed methods research studies, including study design, moderation, analysis, and synthesis

Passion for health, human performance, behavior change, and WHOOP’s mission to unlock human performance and healthspan

Experience using data and evidence to inform decisions, challenge assumptions, and identify opportunities for improvement

Strong communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to translate research findings into actionable insights for diverse audiences

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced and evolving environment

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in User Experience Research, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Anthropology, Sociology, or a related field

Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders

Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions
