Job summary

Google UX is made up of multi-disciplinary teams delivering industry-leading products. The UX Engineer role focuses on bridging UX practices with production-ready front-end solutions for a global audience.

As a UX Engineer you’ll work at the front end of products in a fast-paced environment, showcasing creativity, technical knowledge, and collaboration with designers, researchers, and engineers to launch features widely.

Qualifications

• Located in the United States for the duration of the internship program.
• English proficiency is a requirement for this internship program.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, HCI, Design, or a related technical field.
• Experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience in designing and implementing user interfaces (UIs).

Responsibilities

• Work closely with UX designers, project managers and back-end engineers to implement front-end solutions.
• Launch, iterate and improve front-end work, delivering quality UI components.
• Manage time effectively, both independently and within a team.
• Create engaging prototypes using modern front-end technologies.

Minimum qualifications:

• Participation in the internship program requires that you are located in the United States for the duration of the internship program.
• English proficiency is a requirement for this internship program.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, HCI, Design, or a related technical field.
• Experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience in designing and implementing user interfaces (UIs).

Preferred qualifications:

• Currently attending a degree program in the US and available to work full time for 12 weeks outside of university term time.
• In their penultimate academic year or returning to a degree program after completion of the internship.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks and libraries (e.g., React, TypeScript, Angular, Vue, etc.)
• Experience in development or prototyping.
• Experience coding in Go, Python, C++, Java, Kotlin, Objective C, Swift, or similar.
