Job summary

McGavock Nissan of Amarillo is seeking a skilled Used Car Technician to join our high-volume service team. You will perform repairs, test components, and recondition vehicles in accordance with dealership standards.

Work with diagnostics to maintain and repair engine, transmission, electrical, braking, and A/C systems, while communicating with the Service Advisor about additional work and time estimates. Join a team focused on quality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience at an automotive repair facility is required.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to coordinate with others.
• Valid in-state driver's license and automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and service equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and A/C.
• Communicate with the Service Advisor about additional needed work and estimates of time.
• Provide time estimates for repairs and execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specs.
• Recondition used vehicles and prepare new car vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
• Recondition used vehicles
• Prepare new car vehicles

Requirements

• Previous experience at an automotive repair facility
• Strong teamwork skills
• Valid in-state driver’s license and automobile insurance.
• Clean driving record
