Job summary

Lexus of Birmingham, part of Sonic Automotive, is seeking a Used Car Buyer to prospect, appraise, and present offers to vehicle owners for purchase for resale. You will manage inbound and outbound outreach to source vehicles from multiple channels and help grow inventory.

This role offers a lucrative compensation plan with a $2k draw plus commission and an on-target earnings of $80,000+ per year, plus comprehensive benefits and career growth within a Fortune 500 company.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated success in telemarketing, appointment setting, or sales with targets.
• Strong ability to engage customers, build rapport and address needs.
• Excellent verbal communication with persuasive demeanor over the phone.
• Handle rejection and persistently pursue leads with a positive attitude.
• Comfortable using CRM software and productivity tools to manage leads.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Authorized to work in the USA and willing to pass pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

Job Description

The Used Car Buyer will have a primary responsibility of executing a process which involves prospecting, appraising, and presenting offers to current vehicle owners with the goal of purchasing their vehicles from multiple sources for resale.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for calling, following up and scheduling appointments for customers to come in and appraise and purchase their used vehicles.
• Utilize CRM for prospecting and lead generation.
• Interface with current used vehicle owners from appointments set and dealership service drive with the purpose of purchasing their vehicle.
• Approach, greet, and engage with dealership customers to appraise and offer to purchase their current vehicles.
• Appraise used vehicles by asking questions, taking pictures of the vehicles, and inputting vehicle data into Sonic's automated inventory management system.
• Work with Sales Managers to build and propose an offer to seller.
• Introduce guests to sales department personnel to sell them a new vehicle after purchase of their existing vehicle.
• Review monthly goals with management on vehicles purchased to better utilize time and plans more effectively.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated success in telemarketing, appointment setting, or sales roles, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
• Strong ability to engage with customers effectively, build rapport, and address their needs and concerns professionally.
• Excellent verbal communication skills with a persuasive and articulate demeanor over the phone.
• Ability to handle rejection positively and persistently pursue leads, maintaining a positive attitude throughout.
• Comfortable using CRM software, productivity tools, and other technology platforms to manage leads and track progress.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must be authorized to work in the USA.
• Must be willing to undergo pre-employment compliance requirements: Drug testing, background check, MVR.

Additional Information

Compensation ( $2k Draw / Commission):

• OTE (On-Target-Earnings): $80,000 + / year
• If meeting and exceeding store quota

Schedule

• FULL TIME
• 5 days a week / 2 off
• Weekend availability required
