Job summary

Lancaster County Motors Quality Pre-Owned is hiring a used vehicle Service Technician to repair a variety of name-brand vehicles for our used car lots and auctions. You will perform repairs per repair orders, diagnose issues, coordinate parts, perform road tests when needed, and keep detailed service records.

The role requires a PA inspection/emission license, at least 3 years of experience, a valid driver's license, and your own tools.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in vehicle service.
• Pennsylvania inspection/emission license required.
• Must supply own tools for the job.
• Team player with a positive attitude and cooperative work style.
• Good reading, writing and communication skills in English.
• Able to read instructions and use basic math in repairs.
• Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft software.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs per repair orders with efficiency and accuracy to factory standards.
• Diagnose vehicle malfunctions and complete repairs.
• Coordinate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Assess vehicles for safety or additional work needed and communicate findings.
• Document all work on the repair order and test drive as required.
• Keep the work area clean and report issues to supervisor.

Lancaster County Motors Quality Pre-Owned, part of the Lancaster County Motors Family of Dealershipshas an opportunity for a used vehicle Service Technician.

We have a great career opportunity for you as a used carService Technician at our new temperature controlled Quality Pre-ownded shop. This position will be responsible for repairing a variety of name brand vehicles for our used car lots and vehicles going to car auctions.

• Performs works as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and perform repairs.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Communicates with service advisors immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Road tests vehicles when required.
• Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
• Keep shop area neat and clean
• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years' experience
• Must have Pennsylvania inspection/emission license
• Must have own tools
• Must be a team player and able to maintain a positive working attitude and environment
• Knowledge of the English language, spelling, grammar, punctuation and numbering systems
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one to customers, clients, and other employees
• Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft software products
• Knowledge of basic math
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, motor vehicle and background check

Hours: Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
