Job summary

AFC Urgent Care North Bergen is seeking a per diem physician holding current USCIS Civil Surgeon designation to perform immigration medical examinations on weekends, 2–4 shifts per month. Our center serves a densely immigrant‑populated corridor in New Jersey, with strong demand for immigration physicals.

You will be supported by a full clinical team handling intake, phlebotomy, vaccines, and records — allowing you to focus on examinations and I‑693 certification.

Qualifications

• Current USCIS Civil Surgeon designation required or willingness to add AFC location as a practice location with USCIS support.
• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, or Internal Medicine with ER/UC experience.
• Active and current New Jersey medical licensure, DEA number, and state‑controlled substance certificate as required.
• Familiarity with eMedical electronic submission strongly preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
• Excellent communicator with staff, patients, and family.
• Ability to multi‑task and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform USCIS immigration medical examinations and complete/certify Form I‑693 in accordance with CDC Technical Instructions for Civil Surgeons.
• Submit examination data via eMedical as required.
• Provide high‑quality patient care to urgent care walk‑in patients while on shift.
• Manage all patient care while on shift.
• Supervise all clinical staff while on shift.
• Ensure all charts are filled out and medical records are completed in a timely fashion.
• Process biological specimens when needed.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
