Job summary

American Family Care is seeking a per diem USCIS Civil Surgeon (MD/DO) to perform immigration medical examinations on weekends at our North Bergen, NJ location. You’ll work 2–4 shifts per month with a full clinical team handling intake, labs, vaccines and records, enabling you to focus on examinations and I-693 certification.

You must hold USCIS Civil Surgeon designation and NJ medical licensure; bilingual skills are a plus. Per diem compensation with flexible weekend scheduling offered.

Qualifications

• Current USCIS Civil Surgeon designation required.
• Board Certified/Eligible – Emergency Medicine, Family Practice or Internal Medicine (with ER/UC experience).
• Active NJ medical license, DEA number and state-controlled substance certificate as required.
• Familiarity with eMedical electronic submission preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
• Excellent communicator with staff, patients and families.
• Professional appearance and attitude.
• Ability to multi-task and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform USCIS immigration medical examinations and complete/certify Form I-693.
• Submit examination data via eMedical as required.
• Provide high-quality urgent care to walk-in patients during shifts.
• Manage patient care while on shift.
• Supervise all clinical staff on shift.
• Ensure charts and medical records are completed timely.
• Process biological specimens as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

AFC Urgent Care North Bergen is seeking a per diem physician holding current USCIS Civil Surgeon designation to perform immigration medical examinations (Form I-693) on weekends, 2–4 shifts per month. Our center serves one of the most densely immigrant-populated corridors in New Jersey, with strong built-in demand for immigration physicals. You will be supported by a full clinical team managing intake, phlebotomy, vaccine administration, and records — allowing you to focus on examinations and I-693 certification. In addition to immigration medical exams, the physician will provide high-quality urgent care to walk-in patients during scheduled shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform USCIS immigration medical examinations and complete/certify Form I-693 in accordance with CDC Technical Instructions for Civil Surgeons
• Submit examination data via eMedical as required
• Provide high-quality patient care to urgent care walk-in patients while on shift
• Manage all patient care while on shift
• Supervise all clinical staff while on shift
• Ensure all charts are filled out and medical records are completed in a timely fashion
• Process biological specimens when needed
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
