Position: USC GEAR UP Tutor
Location: In person
Length of Time: Academic School Year
Compensation: District Rate ($30 - $40)
Reports to: CAMP Program Manager
Who We Are: GEAR UP stands for Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs and is a federally funded partnership between Alabama State University and Columbia Public Schools. As part of the USC GEAR UP grant, our company will be working with 10th and 11th grade CPS students this year in an after school tutoring program.

Job Description: This is a professional instructional position responsible for the delivery and implementation of tutoring services. Tutors will work with GEAR UP cohort in one of two subject areas: math and english. Tutoring sessions will be held after school on a schedule set by the school administration.

90-Day Introductory/Probationary Period: All newly hired CAMP employees will complete a 90-day introductory probationary period. During this period, the employee’s performance, attendance, reliability, professionalism, ability to collaborate, adherence to CAMP policies and procedures, and overall alignment with the expectations of the position will be evaluated. A formal evaluation will be conducted during or at the conclusion of the 90-day period to determine continued employment.
