Position Summary
We are currently searching for a seasoned Diesel Truck/Trailer Mechanic to join our Supply Chain team at Walmart. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs on our tractor and trailer equipment. This role requires a keen eye for safety, precision, and attention to detail.
What you'll do
- Diagnose, maintain, repair, and replace major drive train components such as transmissions, differentials, etc.
- Service advanced HVAC systems on tractors and trailers.
- Perform diagnostics on engine, drive train, HVAC, and communication systems using specialized electronic equipment.
- Repair electrical wiring and lighting assemblies on tractors and trailers.
- Maintain brake systems including hydraulic, air, anti-skid, ABS, and EBS.
- Install and repair tires, including dismounting, repairing flats, balancing, and axle alignment.
- Service communication equipment like radios, antennas, CBs, XM, cameras, and tracking devices.
- Replace engine components such as water pumps, fans, alternators, turbochargers, injectors, and ECMs.
- Perform inspection and diagnostics using OEM software such as Cummins Insite and others.
- Enter warranty repairs into the system, complete warranty tags, and process claims.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on brake systems and other components.
- Complete work orders, logs, and documentation accurately.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Maintain and repair driveline components and trailer equipment including lights, landing gear, panels, floors, and doors.
- Perform maintenance on Walmart equipment and operate wash bay facilities.
- Manage fuel drops, monitor tank levels, and prepare fuel samples as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
- At least 2 years' experience in tractor and trailer inspection and repair or a technical school degree/certification in Heavy Duty Truck/Trailer Maintenance.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license.
- Brake and vehicle inspection qualifications as per FMCSA regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Office, ASE Certification, and a valid Class F driver’s license.
