Job summary

Walmart is looking for a General Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our local team in Fremont, MI. You will perform routine maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of Walmart stores, under the General Maintenance Manager, conducting inspections, cleaning, and repairs.

You will use plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and material handling equipment skills with a variety of tools, manage work orders, and promptly address emergencies, all while upholding Walmart's standards

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: 18+ years old and valid state driver’s license with clean MVR.
• Vocational or Technical certification and 1 year in one of the trades, or 2 years total work in trades such as plumbing, electrical, or material handling.
• Strong ability to read repairs, safety protocols, and preventive maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple crafts (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, ME) and tools.
• Utilize the work order system to log repairs and support Stores and associates; document repair activities.

Position Requirements

• 18 years or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Can lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
• Can move up and down laddersfrequently

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets by utilizing multiple craft skills (for example, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment) and using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs
• Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair Work Orders to support Stores and Store associates and document repair activities
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls
• Inspecting, operating, or testing facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues
• Complete all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.
