Position Summary

Walmart is expanding its workforce and looking for a General Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our local and regional teams. If you have experience in this field, we want you to bring your skills to our fast-paced and welcoming environment!

What you'll do

As a General Facilities Maintenance Technician at our retail store, your role will involve executing routine maintenance tasks to uphold the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart Stores, equipment, or fixtures. Operating under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager, you'll adhere to established maintenance schedules and guidelines, conducting inspections, cleaning, and repairing facilities, equipment, or fixtures.

Position Requirements
  • 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Can lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
  • Can move up and down ladders frequently
  • Comfortable working at heights frequently
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods
  • Able to work in various temperatures
  • Hold a valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
  • Vocational or Technical certification and 1 year experience, or 2 years total work experience, in trades like plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills and tools
  • Utilize the work order management system to support stores and document repair activities
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls
  • Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues
  • Complete required training for safe operation of equipment and tools

Compensation

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00-$35.00. Actual pay will meet or exceed the applicable minimum wage. Additional premiums may apply based on schedule, facility, or work performed.

Minimum Qualifications

Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.

  • Vocational or Technical certification and 3 years' experience in trades like plumbing, electrical, material handling, or related trade, or 5 years' experience in these trades
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical trade program
  • City and/or state trade license
  • Intermediate proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
