Job summary

Walmart is seeking a Maintenance Technician to service and repair food service and store equipment at the Westfield area locations. This role focuses on preventative maintenance, safety, and teamwork with store associates and managers.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, completing work orders, and training staff on proper equipment care and cleaning. Strong communication and adaptability are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state driver’s license with clean driving record; able to pass MVR.
• Vocational/Technical certification with 2 years of experience or 4 years total experience in plumbing, electrical, MHE, or related area.
• Commercial driving record: no DUI/DWI in last 5 years; no more than two moving violations in last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets across crafts (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, MHE).
• Use work order system to receive, track, and document repair work.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect facilities and equipment to diagnose issues and ensure proper operation.

This role is essential for maintaining the operational integrity and efficiency of food equipment in Walmart stores, contributing to overall store performance and customer satisfaction.

Position Requirements

• 18 years or older

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Can lift up to 50 lbs. at a time

• Can move up and down ladders frequently

• Comfortable working at heights frequently

• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time

• Able to work in various temperatures.

• Hold a valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report

• Vocational or Technical certification and 1 year experience, or 2 years total work experience, in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets by utilizing multiple craft skills (for example, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment) and using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs

• Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair Work Orders to support Stores and Store associates and document repair activities

• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls

• Inspecting, operating, or testing facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues

• Complete all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely

• Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
• No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
