Job summary

Walmart is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on commercial equipment across Walmart stores. You will develop preventive maintenance schedules, complete PMs on time, and train Store Associates in equipment care and cleaning.

Responsibilities include minor repairs on facilities and equipment, routine maintenance for safety and function, and managing work orders with proper documentation. CDL eligibility is preferred.

What you'll do...

Technician, General Facilities Maintenance, Food Equipment

Walmart is hiring General Maintenance Technicians! You will make an impact as a maintenance technician by diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance duties for all commercial equipment to support our Walmart stores! You will be responsible to develop preventative maintenance schedules and complete assigned PMs in the timeframe outlined, as well as conduct training for Store Associates regarding care and cleaning of equipment.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform minor repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures (for example, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment)
• Complete routine maintenance to ensure safety and proper functionality
• Manage work orders and routine maintenance schedules by completing and providing required written and electronic information (for example, expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, maintenance logs, etc.)

Equipment Serviced

• Food Equipment : Combi ovens, deli slicers, auto meat cutters, fryers, hot cases, ice makers, pizza ovens, rotisserie ovens, thermoglazers, donut cases, four bowl warmers, bakery ovens, bread slicers, tortilla makers.
• Grease and Oil Systems : Oil/water separators, used cooking oil tanks.

You’ll sweep us off your feet if you:

• Have previous experience in maintenance (including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment, etc.)
• Understand the importance of Customer Service and have clear, transparent, and respectful communication
• Drive personal accountability and use effective time management to achieve commitments
• Can adapt to changing and competing demands using solid judgment to identify priorities
• Believe in Servant Leadership and can work as a team to achieve goals

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3 years' experience in maintenance

The hourly wage range for this position is $26.00 - $51.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.

Option 2: 4 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.

Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.

Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.

Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.

No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
