Walmart in Bentonville, AR is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Science to lead the Mobius Digital Twin initiative within Fulfillment Network Optimization. This role oversees advanced analytics and simulations that inform strategic supply chain decisions.

You will build high‑fidelity models, guide cross‑functional teams with Product and Engineering, and drive deployment of AI‑powered simulation engines at scale.

Qualifications

• Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 5 years' experience in an analytics related field.
• Option 2: Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics related field.
• Option 3: 7 years' experience in an analytics or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, assessment, and validation of advanced analytical models to ensure accuracy, robustness, and relevance.
• Translate business requirements into actionable data science projects aligned with strategic objectives, providing recommendations to solve complex challenges.
• Deliver data-driven insights through Walmart Fulfillment Engine (WFE) simulations to de-risk key operational strategies and unlock Cost-to-Serve and GMV opportunities.
• Model critical peak-season scenarios, including pop-up sourcing strategies, contingency routing, and disruptive weather.
• Build high-fidelity network simulation models to evaluate major infrastructure decisions.
• Help pioneer Walmart’s first-of-its-kind AI-powered digital twin platform to run millions of simulations at scale, powering core decision engines like sensitivity-based placement optimization.

About the team: The Mobius team, within the Supply Chain Strategy organization, develops and utilizes an advanced Digital Twin simulation platform across Walmart’s supply chain. This platform enables testing and validation of operational strategies, tactical initiatives, and long-term scenarios before implementation, reducing risks in critical decisions. The team’s work drives innovation in retail supply chain management, enhancing customer experiences while optimizing operational costs. Members collaborate closely to apply data science, machine learning, and analytics techniques, ensuring strategic insights support effective decision-making and continuous improvement across Walmart’s end-to-end supply chain operations.
