Walmart Inc. in Bellevue, WA seeks a Principal Data Scientist specializing in Computer Vision to build and scale AI capabilities across Global Governance.

This role focuses on applying computer vision, multimodal AI, and advanced ML to high-impact use cases across Security, Compliance, Product Safety, and related domains. You will collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Business teams to deploy production-grade vision systems.

Qualifications

• Option 1: Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 5 years' experience in an analytics related field.
• Option 2: Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics related field.
• Option 3: 7 years' experience in an analytics or related field

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver production-scale computer vision solutions across detection, classification, tracking, segmentation, video understanding, anomaly detection, and multimodal AI.
• Develop end-to-end pipelines spanning data collection, labeling, training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and model improvement.
• Partner with Engineering to optimize inference, latency, cost, and edge/cloud deployment.
• Establish reusable computer vision frameworks and evaluation standards, support responsible AI and privacy requirements, and translate business problems into measurable technical solutions.
• Mentor others scientists and contribute to technical direction across Global Governance.

The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00 - $264,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
