Walmart is seeking a motivated store manager in Wyoming, MI, who will lead and develop a team, ensure exceptional customer service, drive sales performance, and uphold company standards. Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and effectively communicate business objectives to teams.
Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model. Manages and supports customer service initiatives, such as store community outreach programs, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved. Develops and implements action plans to address deficiencies and provides process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating Profit & Loss statements, managing budgets, forecasting, and controlling expenses. Monitors and ensures effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes. Develops and implements action plans to mitigate shrinkage and achieve sales and profit goals.
Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning duties. Sets clear expectations, provides recognition, and communicates consistently to ensure a sense of belonging and awareness. Recruits and develops qualified staff to meet staffing needs and support company growth.
Coordinates and oversees job-related activities by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs. Builds accountability and measures progress, identifies improvement opportunities, and demonstrates adaptability and continuous learning.
Ensures compliance with company policies and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans and supporting the Open Door Policy. Creates a workplace of belonging where associates feel supported and connected, embracing differences and fostering a culture of inclusion.
Acts with integrity, maintaining high standards of ethics, honesty, and transparency. Supports Walmart's goals of positive community impact, waste elimination, and sustainability.

The position requires a minimum of 2 years of college, or equivalent experience, including retail or supervisory experience. Candidates must complete all required trainings and assessments, including any firearms or state-specific background checks if applicable.
Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership, a Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership, and experience supervising five or more direct reports with responsibilities in performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
