Walmart is seeking a Store Manager in Michigan to lead teams, enhance customer satisfaction, and drive sales performance. Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates. Tours stores and provides feedback, communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams effectively. Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model. Manages and supports customer service initiatives, such as store community outreach programs, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are resolved. Develops and implements action plans to address deficiencies and leads process improvements to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating PL (Profit & Loss) statements, managing budgets, forecasting, and controlling expenses to align with sales. Monitors and ensures effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes. Develops and implements action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning duties. Sets clear expectations, provides recognition, and communicates consistently. Promotes a sense of belonging in the workplace and recruits and develops qualified staff to meet staffing needs and support company growth. Coordinates and oversees job-related activities by building relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, and measuring progress toward goals. Identifies improvement opportunities, demonstrates adaptability, and promotes continuous learning.
Ensures compliance with company policies and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, supporting the Open Door Policy, and guiding staff in applying these principles in business practices.

2 years of college OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience. For firearm-selling facilities, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. For ammunition-only facilities with specific state requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required. Associates must attend and pass all required training and assessments, such as Academy and Open Door trainings.
Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University. Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University. Experience supervising five or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
