Drives sales by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, including accurate and competitive pricing, proper signage, inventory levels, cleanliness of the area, assessing economic trends and community needs, overseeing merchandise stocking and rotation, setting up and organizing product displays, and securing fragile and high-shrink merchandise.
Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates, touring stores and providing feedback, communicating and collaborating regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction, introducing and leading change efforts, providing clear expectations, and implementing business solutions. Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards following the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing and supporting customer service initiatives, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are addressed, and developing action plans for process improvement.
Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations, recognizing contributions, ensuring diversity and inclusion, and recruiting qualified staff to meet staffing and growth needs.
Controls merchandise loss and enhances profitability by setting performance goals, monitoring adherence to loss prevention policies, reviewing inventory variances, conducting operational audits, gathering data, identifying improvement opportunities, and working with managers and staff to implement corrections. Investigates violations of policies and criminal activities, gathers evidence, and provides court testimony as needed. Partners with other investigative entities.
Monitors safety and risk controls, supervises safety team members, identifies accident trends, develops solutions, and trains associates on accident prevention. Oversees safety reviews and implements safety improvements. Manages asset protection, safety, claims, and receiving procedures, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and maintains proper documentation.
Develops and maintains relationships with stakeholders, supports plans and initiatives, sets and measures goals, and promotes continuous learning and improvement. Completion of 2 years of college, or 1 year of supervisory experience in a multi-department environment, or 1 year in accounting, claims, inventory control, systems/UPC, personnel, or loss prevention/asset protection, or 2 years in asset protection or related area. Must meet state-specific requirements for asset protection, including certifications or licenses, and pass background checks and training as applicable. Candidates must attend and complete all required training programs.
Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership, or in Criminal Justice, or certifications such as Loss Prevention Qualified or Certified, with experience supervising five or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing. Investigative experience is also preferred.
