  • Experience engaging with regulators and government agencies is preferred.

Repsol is hiring a Completions Manager for the US Land Operations team within the Wells Business Unit, to be based out of our office in The Woodlands, TX.

Location : This role is to be supported onsite from the Repsol office located in The Woodlands, Texas. Following the initial training period, the position is eligible for our compressed work schedule (hybrid 9/80), with manager approval. The schedule may be adjusted as needed based on business needs or individual performance. Position may require frequent travel to the field (Eagle Ford / TX and/or Marcellus / NY & PA)

Position Summary

The Completions Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective planning and execution of hydraulic fracturing, flowback, drillout, well intervention, workover and abandonment operations across Repsol's unconventional asset areas. The role provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all completion-related activities, ensuring delivery of production targets while maintaining the highest standards of safety, environment, operational performance and capital efficiency. This position leads multidisciplinary teams and manages relationships with service providers, contractors and stakeholders to optimize well performance, reduce cycle times, drive innovation and maximize asset value.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
  • Lead end-to-end execution of completions, workover, and abandonment programs across multiple operating areas.
  • Develop annual and multi-year completion strategies aligned with asset development plans and corporate objectives.
  • Ensure operational readiness, schedule adherence, and efficient execution of completion campaigns.
  • Oversee hydraulic fracturing, wireline, drillout, flowback, production testing and well intervention activities.
  • Monitor operational performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance execution efficiency.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
  • Establish and reinforce a strong safety culture across all operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation.
  • Drive spill prevention, process safety and operational risk management initiatives.
  • Promote visible leadership through field engagement and contractor oversight.
Financial & Commercial Management
  • Develop and manage completion budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor capital expenditure and operating costs to ensure financial targets are achieved.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining operational integrity and production performance.
  • Evaluate contractor performance against commercial agreements and operational KPIs.
  • Support contract negotiations, vendor selection and service quality improvement efforts.
Technical Excellence
  • Collaborate with Reservoir Engineering, Production Engineering, Drilling, Geoscience and Development teams to optimize field development plans.
  • Evaluate completion designs, stimulation strategies and emerging technologies.
  • Champion data-driven decision-making using operational and production performance metrics.
  • Support implementation of automation, digital tools, artificial intelligence applications and advanced analytics to improve operational outcomes.
  • Drive lessons learned and knowledge-sharing initiatives across assets.
Leadership & People Development
  • Lead and develop completion engineers, superintendents, foremen and operational staff.
  • Build high-performing teams through mentoring, coaching and succession planning.
  • Foster collaboration across disciplines and operating areas.
  • Develop organizational capability and promote continuous learning and innovation.
Required Qualifications & Experience

Full U.S. work authorization without restrictions or future sponsorship requirements. Repsol does not sponsor visas, including F‑1 (OPT/CPT).

Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline. An advanced degree (M.S. or MBA) is a plus.

At least 15 years of experience in completion engineering for unconventional assets, with at least 5 years on management positions.

Deep expertise in hydraulic fracturing, well completions, workovers and abandonment operations.

Experience engaging with regulators and government agencies is preferred.
