Job summary

Delta Electronics Americas is seeking a Standards Engineer to ensure SSTs and microgrid products comply with US standards, codes, and regulatory requirements. You will partner with R&D, product management, quality, and external bodies to drive certification and market entry.

The role requires deep knowledge of power conversion systems, grid‑interactive equipment, and evolving microgrid standards, with hands‑on experience in certification processes across geographies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Controls, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in power electronics engineering, power system design, controls integration, industrial automation, or hardware/controls product management.
• Strong knowledge of US standards (IEEE 1547, UL 1741, IEEE 1662/1676, UL 508C, NEC NFPA 70).
• Experience translating complex engineering requirements into clear product specifications.
• Familiarity with DER integration and grid communication protocols.
• Ability to interpret technical standards and communicate requirements to engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply US standards and grid codes for SSTs, converters, and microgrid systems.
• Develop and own US certification strategies for SST and microgrid products.
• Lead product certifications with UL, CSA (US), Intertek, and other NRTLs.
• Define and review certification test plans (safety, grid compliance, EMC, environmental).
• Support laboratory testing, troubleshoot failures, and drive corrective actions.
• Review and approve certification reports and compliance documentation.
• Interface with utilities, EPCs, and customers on compliance and interconnection.
