Job summary

Delta Electronics Americas is seeking a Standards / Certification Engineer to ensure SSTs and microgrid products comply with applicable US standards, certifications, codes, and regulatory requirements. This role serves as a technical authority on grid interconnection, power electronics compliance, and certification strategies.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with R&D, product management, quality, and external certification bodies to ensure successful product development and market entry

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Controls, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in power electronics engineering, power system design, controls integration, industrial automation, or hardware / controls product management.
• Strong knowledge of US standards (IEEE 1547, UL 1741, IEEE 1662 / IEEE 1676, UL 508C, NEC (NFPA 70)).

Responsibilities

• Lead US standards and regulatory activities for SSTs and microgrid systems.
• Develop and own US certification strategies for SST and microgrid products; lead product certifications with UL, CSA (US), Intertek, and other NRTLs.
• Define and review certification test plans (safety, grid compliance, EMC, environmental).
• Support laboratory testing, troubleshoot test failures, and drive corrective actions.
• Interface with utilities, EPCs, and customers on compliance and interconnection questions.
