Job description

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Freelance Sourcing & Export Logistics Specialist based in the Greater Houston area. Your primary objective will be to identify, negotiate, and procure high-quality fire and life safety products from US-based manufacturers and coordinate their tax-exempt export to Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

• Local Sourcing: Identify and build relationships with US suppliers of fire suppression systems, alarms, PPE, and related life safety equipment.
• Procurement & Negotiation: Secure competitive pricing and ensure products meet specific Saudi Arabian import and industry standards.
• Export Logistics: Coordinate with local Houston freight forwarders to manage shipments via sea or air freight.
• Tax Compliance: Ensure all purchases utilize the Texas Sales Tax Export Exemption by securing the proper bills of lading and forwarder receipts.
• Documentation: Manage all necessary export paperwork, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.

Requirements

• Located in or near Houston, TX, with the ability to do local supplier pick-ups or site visits if required.
• Proven experience in procurement, supply chain, or export logistics (specifically dealing with the Middle East is a massive plus).
• Understanding of the Texas Sales Tax Export Exemption and the documentation required to claim it.
• Familiarity with industrial safety products or the oil & gas supply chain is highly preferred.
• Strong negotiation skills and high attention to detail regarding international shipping documentation.
