Job summary

Airwallex, a global payments and financial platform, seeks a Manager of Regulatory Operations in the US. You will build and operate controls across US-licensed entities, partner with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Product, and Operations, and drive exam-ready evidence packages.

You will design, implement, and continuously improve controls and documentation, while enabling scalable obligations management across markets. Based in the US (SF or NYC) with a hands-on, execution-focused approach.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in regulatory operations, regulatory compliance, internal audit, risk management, or similar in tech/fintech.
• Translating legal/regulatory requirements into operational controls, procedures and testing activities.
• Direct involvement in regulatory exams, audits, RFIs, or partner due-diligence with clear ownership.
• Strong project management to drive cross-functional control or reporting initiatives.
• Excellent analytical and writing skills to simplify regulatory concepts.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-standards environment with cross-functional ownership.

Responsibilities

• Identify and operationalize regulatory obligations into governance, controls, and execution requirements.
• Design and implement key regulatory and partner controls across Product, Operations, Engineering, Risk, and Compliance.
• Create regulator- and partner-ready documentation including mappings, control descriptions, RACIs, testing approaches, and evidence tracking.
• Engage regulators, auditors, and financial partners, explaining obligations and control architectures.
• Support regulatory exams, audits, RFIs, coordinating responses and exam-ready documentation.
• Contribute to US regulatory reporting governance, defining who reports what, when, and from which systems.
• Identify gaps across the US obligations and drive remediation to scale controls and evidence management.
