Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of hands-on U.S. multi-state payroll and benefits administration experience.
• Proven ability to independently manage payroll from start to finish.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll tax and wage-and-hour requirements.
• Working knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, ACA, and FMLA.
• Experience with a modern HRIS/payroll platform; Rippling and/or Deel experience is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and handle confidential employee information with discretion.
• Experience in a high-growth, financial services, fintech, or technology environment is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end bi-weekly, multi-state U.S. payroll, including new hires, terminations, bonuses, commissions, equity-related income, off-cycle payments, and adjustments.
• Audit payroll, reconcile payroll to the General Ledger, and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax and wage-and-hour requirements.
• Administer employee benefits, including health and welfare plans, 401(k), open enrollment, qualifying life events, COBRA, leaves, and vendor coordination.
• Manage employee data, workflows, and integrations within Rippling, the company's HRIS.
• Prepare payroll, headcount, compensation, and benefits reporting and support audits and compliance requirements.
• Act as the primary point of contact for employee questions relating to payroll, benefits, deductions, and HR systems.
• Document processes, strengthen controls, and identify opportunities to streamline and automate People Operations.
