Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in journalism, editing, or commentary.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for argument structure, tone, and narrative.
• Strong news judgment and familiarity with a wide range of political and cultural viewpoints.
• Ability to juggle multiple deadlines and contributors under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Commission and edit timely opinion pieces from diverse contributors.
• Identify breaking news and provide sharp commentary.
• Maintain Daily Mail voice with clarity and impact.
• Build network of contributors across politics, culture, global affairs.
• Maximize reader engagement and drive subscriptions.
• Develop newsletters and audio strategies from audience data.
• Collaborate with news editors, homepage and social editors to feature content.
