Job summary

Parallel is building AI agents to automate hospital administrative work, starting with inpatient medical coding. We are launching in the US in 2027 and need a Medical Coding Lead to be the coding authority on the founding US team in New York.

You will teach AI engineers US coding rules, settle hard cases, and ensure every suggestion is accurate and compliant for pilot hospitals. You will recruit and lead US coders, collaborate with our physician advisor, and help scale pilots while ensuring

Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years in inpatient coding, including coding audit or DRG validation.
• CCS, RHIA or RHIT; CDIP or CCDS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build US coding logic with AI engineers and turn guidelines into rules and specs.
• Settle hard cases on principal diagnosis, sequencing and CC/MCC capture.
• Lead pilots and build the US coding team, recruiting part-time coders as needed.
• Ensure every suggestion is supported by documentation with audit trails and compliance.
