US - Lab Assistant (Entry) - Evening Shift (Contract)

Contract (1 year)

Lab Analyst I

Hours are 2:00pm - 10:30pm

Pay: $21.80/hr. on W2

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine analytic testing on all samples in the Analytical Services laboratory.
  • Operate HPLC and GC instruments, and perform basic preventative maintenance.
  • Prepare solutions, clean glassware, dispose of waste, and maintain laboratory cleanliness.
  • Request additional work to increase team productivity.
  • Identify and communicate instrument or equipment issues.
  • Operate the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Chromatography Data System (CDS).
  • Search databases for test methods, specifications, and standards.
  • Record, calculate, and report analytical results accurately.
  • Review analytical data and LIMS reports.
  • Communicate any issues or discrepancies in sample integrity, safety, or analysis.
  • Assist in improving procedures and implementing continuous‑improvement projects.
  • Notify leads when supplies or consumables are at critical levels.
  • Observe safety and housekeeping practices and participate in lab/site safety programs.
  • Maintain knowledge of RCRA hazardous waste regulations and promptly report spills or leaks.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma and a minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to analyze outcomes against a standard.
  • Ability to diagnose typical instrument problems independently and provide assistance to others.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload for laboratory efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of laboratory experience.
  • Understanding of basic HPLC and GC operation.
