Job Description

Target Pay Rate: $21.41/hr (salary will be commensurate with experience)

This position performs routine testing on all samples in the Analytical Services laboratory, providing analytical data for process control, quality control, process development, product development, and waste management. Employee will be required to work eight-hour shifts, rotating days within the shift every three to four months. KC Quality Control lab operates 24 hours on three shifts.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Perform routine analytical testing as directed by protocols and work instructions.
• Work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Request additional work to increase team productivity.
• Prepare solutions, clean glassware, dispose of waste, and support overall lab operations.
• Train others on waste management procedures.
• Report issues related to sample integrity, inventory, safety, or analysis irregularities to lab leadership.
• Identify troubleshooting opportunities in testing processes.
• Conduct basic preventative maintenance and identify operational issues with lab instruments and equipment.
• Operate Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), Chromatography Data System (CDS), and other computer systems.
• Search databases for test methods, specifications, and standards.
• Record, calculate, and report analytical results accurately.
• Review data and reports generated by LIMS.
• Communicate issues and testing results with team members and supervisors.
• Complete data entry for metrics and KPIs.
• Suggest process improvements and participate in continuous improvement projects.
• Notify customers of testing results as required and monitor supply levels.
• Follow safety and housekeeping practices diligently.
• Participate in safety programs and cross-site initiatives.
• Maintain knowledge of hazardous waste regulations and respond to spills and leaks promptly.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma plus at least 1 year of lab experience.
• Good communication skills, both oral and written.
• High attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to diagnose basic instrument problems and assist others.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Over 3 years of laboratory experience.
• Basic understanding of HPLC and GC operation.
