Job summary

Nextpower, based in Fremont, California, seeks a U.S. Manager of Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) to lead the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE programs across U.S. operations and acquired businesses.

Travel 20–30% within the United States. The role serves as the primary HSE resource for regional leadership, supporting compliance, risk management, incident prevention, training, auditing, and integration of newly acquired entities into the corporate HSE framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (occupational health & safety, environmental science, engineering).
• Minimum 8 years of progressive HSE experience across multiple facilities or regions.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, CAL/OSHA, ISO 14001 & 45001, and environmental compliance requirements.
• Experience developing, implementing, and administering HSE programs and management systems.
• Experience conducting audits, investigations, risk assessments, and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and continuous improvement of HSE programs across U.S. operations and acquired businesses.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, CAL/OSHA, EPA, DOT, and local regulatory requirements; monitor developments.
• Support due diligence for acquisitions and integration into HSE framework.
• Oversee incident reporting, investigations, root-cause analyses, and corrective action tracking.
• Conduct site visits, audits, and provide coaching to local management teams.
• Develop and coordinate HSE training programs and awareness campaigns.
• Develop KPIs and regular reporting to Global Director of HSE and leaders.
