Job summary

Nextpower, based in Fremont, CA, seeks a U.S. HSE Manager to lead and continually improve HSE programs nationwide. You will partner with leadership to integrate safety into operations, manage regulatory compliance, and drive incident prevention and reporting.

This role travels 20–30% across the United States and reports to the Global Director of HSE. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in HSE with strong auditing experience, and holds a related Bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive HSE experience across multiple facilities or regions.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, CAL OSHA, ISO 14001 & 45001 standards.
• Lead Auditor/Internal Auditor experience with HSE programs.
• Experience conducting audits, investigations, risk assessments, and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Support the execution of the company's HSE strategy across U.S. operations and acquisitions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state/local requirements; lead risk assessments.
• Lead due diligence for acquisitions and integrate new entities into HSE programs.
• Oversee incident reporting, investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Conduct site visits, audits, and coaching to improve HSE performance.
• Develop and coordinate HSE training programs and safety culture initiatives.
• Prepare KPI reports and present HSE performance to leadership.
