Job summary

William Blair seeks an experienced all-cap financials Analyst for its buy-side domestic research team to identify quality growth and core companies with above-average results for clients. You will build financial models, analyze revenue and cash flow, and prepare industry reports with a focus on risk-adjusted returns.

The role emphasizes rigorous fundamental research, data gathering, and collaboration across research and portfolio management teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; MBA preferred.
• 5+ years of investment research experience required.
• Investment analytics/economic research skills.
• Knowledge of data gathering and analysis best practices and methodologies.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Knowledge of investment concepts and products.
• Knowledge of applicable regulations.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate with investment and research teams.
• Ability to work independently in support of team goals.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bloomberg, and other investment industry standard data sources.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed knowledge of assigned industry and companies to assess relevance of market developments and data.
• Gather research data related to assigned industry and companies, and maintain accurate, current research databases.
• Collect information on financial performance, competitive industry positioning, quality of company management, etc.
• Utilize quantitative tools to analyze market sectors and trends and conduct statistical analyses; develop and maintain financial models for revenue and income forecasts, cash flow analysis, balance sheet and projections.
• Prepare industry and company reports, presentations and exhibits to summarize research findings for economic research findings for Research teams and portfolio management teams.
• Provide input for new investment ideas and portfolio positions.
• May participate in meetings with company management, brokers, investment and research staff to obtain relevant research information and present findings.
• Document and maintain information for analysis activities.
• Ensure all work activities comply with applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
