William Blair seeks a Financials Analyst for its buy-side domestic research team to identify quality growth companies and generate above-average results with managed risk.

You will develop models, analyze financials, and prepare industry reports to inform portfolio management. The role emphasizes data-driven insights, collaboration, and adherence to regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred.
• 5+ years of investment research experience; 1-2 years in an Analyst role preferred.
• Prior financials coverage within capital markets, consumer finance or fintech preferred.
• Investment analytics/economic research skills.
• Knowledge of data gathering and analysis best practices.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Knowledge of investment concepts and products.
• Knowledge of applicable regulations.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate with investment and research teams.
• Ability to work independently in support of team goals.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bloomberg, and other data sources.

We're seeking a financials Analyst to join our buy-side domestic research team which is responsible for identifying quality growth and core companies that will generate above-average results for clients over time with generally less risk than the market. The team identifies these companies through a combination of rigorous fundamental research and systematic inputs, following a disciplined process that emphasizes team collaboration.

Responsibilities Include But May Not Be Limited To

• Develop detailed knowledge of assigned industry and companies to assess the relevance of market developments, news and related data.
• Gather research data related to assigned industry and companies, and maintain accurate, current research databases.
• Collect information on financial performance, competitive industry positioning, quality of company management, etc.
• Utilize quantitative tools to analyze market sectors and trends and conduct statistical analyses. Develop and maintain financial models for revenue and income forecasts, cash flow analysis, balance sheet and quarterly projections.
• Prepare industry and company reports, presentations and exhibits to summarize research findings for economic research findings for Research teams and portfolio management teams.
• Provide input for new investment ideas and portfolio positions.
• May participate in meetings with company management, brokers, investment and research staff to obtain relevant research information and present analysis findings.
• Document and maintain information for analysis activities.
• Ensure all work activities are in compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Additional responsibilities as requested.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred
• 5+ years of investment research experience required; 1-2 years in an Analyst seat preferred
• Prior financials coverage within capital markets, consumer finance or fintech strongly preferred
• Investment analytics/economic research skills
• Knowledge of data gathering and analysis best practices and methodologies

A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range at time of posting is below. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. Actual base salary within the specified range is based on several factors, including but not limited to applicant’s skills, prior relevant experience, specific degrees and certifications, job responsibilities, market considerations and, if applicable, the location of the position.

This role is eligible for either a discretionary annual bonus (based on company, business unit and individual performance) and/or commission-based incentives.
