Clera is building a US operations and banking infrastructure from the ground up in New York. You will join as a founding engineer, owning core systems end to end and shaping a programmable banking platform for reliable, scalable money movement.

As a senior contributor, you will ship production code early, lead projects, and translate complex banking problems into robust software. Relocation to New York is supported, and visa assistance is available.

About the Role

Join an early engineering team building US operations and core banking infrastructure for digital assets and financial technology. As a founding engineer, you will own important systems end to end and help shape a programmable banking platform designed to move money reliably at scale.

What You'll Do

• Ship production code early while learning the codebase, product, and banking domain.
• Lead projects from initial concept through implementation and production as an individual contributor.
• Translate complex financial and banking problems into reliable software that can operate at scale.
• Make decisions about system design, data modeling, and architectural tradeoffs.
• Work with engineering, product, and clients to evolve core banking systems.
• Build simple, automated solutions that reduce operational effort and are easy to maintain.

What We're Looking For

• At least 3 years of hands-on backend software engineering experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in an early-stage company or small startup environment.
• A track record of writing clean, correct, maintainable code and taking strong ownership of quality.
• Ability to ship, iterate, and make progress in new problem areas without waiting for a detailed playbook.
• Interest in core banking systems and financial infrastructure.
• Willingness to work from New York or relocate.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual base salary of $200,000 to $400,000, plus equity. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan, relocation support, and visa support.

Location

On-site in New York, New York. Relocation support is available.
