Job Summary

The Senior RCM Business Analyst focuses on optimizing operational efficiency and financial performance, as well as executing strategic transformation initiatives throughout Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) operations. The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for supporting RCM initiatives with duties including project management, analyzing areas for process improvement, training, and documenting step-by-step protocols. This will include collaborating with leadership in other areas to support project initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be involved with process reengineering, digital enablement, automation, and performance transformation focused on improving AR metrics such as DSO, denial rates, and collections.

Essential Job Functions
  • Process Analysis & Improvement
    • Identifying areas for improvement in RCM processes, implementing changes, and monitoring their impact. Evaluate critical process opportunities for enhancement and propose tangible solutions to avoid repeatable errors.
    • Gathering operational and workflow requirements to document, implement, and monitor workflow processes. Identification of root causes of workflow/process incident management.
    • Developing, proposing, and organizing initiatives related to RCM process improvement.
    • Creating, designing, and approving processes, enhancing automation of technical workflows, and providing monitoring/stabilization of current business processes.
    • Continuously reviewing RCM workflows and processes.
  • Documentation & Communication
    • Creating and maintaining documentation such as protocols and process maps, and communicating effectively with stakeholders.
    • Documenting detailed technical designs for workflow automation, end-user documentation, and job aids.
    • Training staff on new processes and protocols.
    • Effectively communicating and collaborating with leadership.
  • Data Analysis
    • Analyzing data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement in the RCM process.
    • Running and analyzing reports as needed.
  • Technology Support
    • Monitoring new workflows and processes to ensure success.
    • Supporting practice management related to RCM.
    • Creating and supporting workflow tools such as Smartsheet.
  • Project Management & Support
    • Leading or assisting with RCM transformation initiatives, such as implementing new systems, redesigning workflows, and optimizing technology.
    • Creating and executing project management plans.
    • Defining scopes for revenue cycle and/or company initiatives.
    • Setting and tracking project objectives.
    • Ensuring all project deliverables are completed and formally closed.
    • Communicating project timelines and milestones.
    • Monitoring project progress and assisting with deadlines.
    • Presenting status updates.
    • Completing special projects and providing project support as requested by senior leadership.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Work Environment

Fast-paced, deadline-oriented, confidential department. The noise level is usually moderate.

Physical Demands

Demonstrated ability to do excessive walking, standing, bending, and stooping. Frequently required to stand, sit, use hands, reach, and communicate. Occasionally required to climb, kneel, or crouch. May need to lift 50-90 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Work may be remote or in-office with travel as needed. Position Details

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. Remote work may be considered. Travel to the office may be necessary.
