Position Summary

The US Customs Brokerage Entry Writer plays an important role in supporting our US Operations Manager by handling key administrative and client engagement tasks within the customs brokerage sales cycle. This position ensures accurate and timely client interactions while allowing senior team members to focus on relationship-building and closing opportunities.

This is an excellent entry point into the international trade industry, offering exposure to customs processes, client service, and career development opportunities in sales, operations, or logistics.

Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process and submit customs entries accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Review documentation for completeness and compliance with US Customs regulations.
  • Communicate with clients, carriers, and brokers to resolve issues and facilitate timely shipment clearance.
  • Maintain up-to-date records in internal systems and client databases.
  • Help identify process improvements to manage volume efficiently.
  • Provide administrative support and assist with additional operational tasks as needed.
  • Coordinate and file required documentation for Partner Government Agencies (PGAs), including the FDA, to ensure regulatory compliance and timely clearance.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in customs brokerage, logistics, or ecommerce operations (parcel-level preferred).
  • Familiarity with US Customs procedures and entry types (e.g., Section 321, informal, formal entries).
  • Strong attention to detail and high data accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines in a remote setting.
  • Tech-savvy, comfortable using brokerage or logistics platforms and Excel/Google Sheets.

Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with clients, customs authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Spanish is considered an asset.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and reliability.
  • Proficiency with computers and software; detail-oriented, resourceful, and eager to learn.
  • Must be a team player - like seriously, prove it.

Working Conditions

  • Our standard work schedule is 37.5 hours per week. Given our business operates around the clock, 24/7/365, you may be required to work some additional hours, including weekends and overtime, as needed.
  • 100% remote role (you will be provided with all the IT equipment required to successfully complete your tasks), candidates must reside and work from within the United States.

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $45,000 – $55,000 USD annually, depending on experience and qualifications. This role is also eligible for benefits, including health coverage, paid time off, and 401(k) contributions.
