Field Work & Data Collection
  • Conduct on‑site field visits to gather measurements, verify existing installations, and collect data needed for new or updated designs.
  • Document field conditions thoroughly (measurements, equipment labeling, routing information, site photos) and translate findings into updated engineering drawings.
  • Interface with plant personnel when needed to clarify equipment access, layouts, and existing electrical infrastructure.
Electrical System Expertise
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of electrical power distribution systems.
  • Perform sizing and selection of circuit breakers and other protective devices as required for design packages.
  • Read, interpret, and update one‑line diagrams, panel schedules, and equipment lists.
Collaboration & Project Support
  • Work with project teams, including designers and engineers, throughout the design and review process.
  • Support design reviews by providing drawing updates, design clarifications, and field verification as needed.
  • Maintain organized documentation and revision control across multiple projects.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of CAD design/drafting experience, preferably with a focus on electrical power and control systems.
  • Expert‑level AutoCAD experience required; strong ability to create and modify complex electrical drawings.
  • Deep knowledge of electrical design principles, including breaker sizing, load calculations, and power distribution layouts.
  • Experience conducting field measurements and developing designs based on real world data.
  • Ability to collaborate with engineers, designers, and plant personnel.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation practices.
