Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is seeking a urology technician to support inpatient and ambulatory care across St. Marys and downtown/Methodist campuses.

You will perform catheterizations, bladder scanning, and related pre- and post-procedure education while responding to calls and moving a mobile supply cart. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED and healthcare exposure; BLS certification is required or provided during orientation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Healthcare education or experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or orientation-provided training will be offered.

Responsibilities

• Perform urinary catheterizations and bladder scanning; reinforce home-care education related to self-catheterization.
• Respond to inpatient and ambulatory calls at Mayo Clinic St. Marys and downtown/Methodist campuses.
• Push a mobile supply cart between calls.

Responsibilities

The urology technician is an individual who, through didactic and supervised practice, has acquired the knowledge and developed the skills necessary for providing urinary catheterizations, urinary drainage tube irrigations, ultrasonic bladder scanning, and reinforcement of home-going education related to self-catheterization or urinary drainage tube irrigations. The urology technician is responsible for responding to calls in the inpatient and ambulatory setting at both the St. Marys campus and downtown/Methodist campus. Individuals push a mobile supply cart from call to call.

Qualifications

This is a Female team member position.

High school diploma or successful completion of GED. Previous health care education or experience.

Additional Qualifications :

Hospital medical background preferred. Ability to work independently. Ability to adapt to unpredictable fluctuations in workload volume. Knowledge of basic computer skills. Knowledge of aseptic techniques.

License or Certification :

If a candidate does not currently have their Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross the Basic Life Support, certification will be included as part of the orientation program. Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
