Job description

Urology Opening - Waterloo, IA | J1/H1B Eligible

Position Details

1. Full-time, permanent
2. Hospital-based employment
3. Established practice with a robust patient panel
4. Diverse patient panel including PEDS to adults
5. Collaborative team of 4 physicians and 3 APPs
6. State-of-the-art equipment with onsite da Vinci Surgical Robot
7. Experienced OR staff and dedicated Urology and Robotics team
8. Supportive staff including administration, 2 nurses per provider, an experience specialist, and onsite lab
9. Large referral network from employed Primary Care providers
10. 204-bed hospital with hospitalist team for consults and admits
11. Surgical oncology for bladder, kidney, prostate, and testicular cancer
12. Provides care to outreach locations in Sumner, Fort Dodge, and Marshalltown, IA
13. Fully integrated system with Epic EMR for clinics and hospitals

Responsibilities

1. Average patients per day: varies based on clinic/OR schedule
2. Clinic hours: Monday-Thursday 8AM-4PM, Friday 8AM-1PM
3. Mix of outpatient, inpatient, and surgical cases
4. Call requirement: 1:5 with APP support
5. Two surgical locations with ancillary ownership opportunities in ambulatory surgical center
6. Referrals include bladder disorders, urinary incontinence, infertility, kidney stones, prostate disorders, vasectomies, and pediatric urology
7. Office procedures: bladder biopsy, instillations, ultrasounds, Botox injections, cystourethroscopy, lesion removal, REZUM, prostate biopsies, lithotripsy, vasectomies
8. Two da Vinci XI surgical robots onsite
9. Team-oriented approach to improve community health outcomes

Qualifications

1. Board eligible or certified in urology
2. Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license in Iowa
3. Current and unrestricted authority to prescribe medications
4. Eligible to work in the U.S. (H1-B cap exempt)
5. J-1 waiver sponsorship available
