Urology Physician at Veterans Health Administration

Summary:

The Urology Physician at the VA Tampa Healthcare System provides specialized care to veterans, focusing on diagnosis, treatment, and surgical interventions for genitourinary issues. Responsibilities include mentoring urology residents and participating in educational activities. This role requires a board-certified or board-eligible urologist with experience in surgical techniques and a commitment to veteran healthcare.

The VA Tampa Healthcare System is actively recruiting a Board Certified or Board Eligible Urologist to care for our Veterans. We seek individuals with broad experience in all aspects of clinical urology. The Urologist will provide direct patient care to our unique Veteran population. Duties include:

1. Mentoring urology residents and medical trainees in an accredited urology program, including participation in lectures, research, and hands-on teaching activities.
2. Performing history and physical examinations, diagnosing, developing treatment plans, and managing patients with complex genitourinary illnesses.
3. Conducting surgeries on the genitourinary system, including major and minor procedures using open, endoscopic, minimally invasive techniques, including robotics.
4. Placement, revision, and removal of urologic prosthetics.
5. Neuromodulation procedures via percutaneous or implanted devices under fluoroscopic guidance.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Work schedules are determined by the supervisor and may include various shifts, on-call coverage for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Salary Range: $365,000 - $400,000

No State Income Tax

Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): Position Eligible

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Paid Time Off: 50-55 days per year (including annual leave, sick leave, federal holidays, and CME leave)

Licensure: One full, unrestricted license from any US State or territory

Preferred Experience: Board-certified/eligible urologist with 1-3 years of recent surgical experience.
