Job description

Salem Veteran Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) is seeking a Chief of Urology to join our exemplary surgical team providing extraordinary care to veterans and their families.

Our medical center is a 242-bed teaching hospital that provides health care services to more than 78,000 eligible Veterans in an area that covers 26 counties, 13 independent cities, and 8,800 square miles in southwestern Virginia. Salem VAMC is small enough to connect with patients but big enough to still have some of the newest equipment available.

The Surgery section is seeking a board-certified Chief of Urologist to join the practice at Salem Virginia's Veterans Health System. We are looking for individuals with broad experience in all aspects of clinical urology and surgical procedures. The Chief of Urology will oversee the urology service line and provide direct patient care to our unique veteran population.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the achievement of quality care standards, as well as the growth and development of a VA academic hospital program. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator and team player who is adaptable to the needs of a growing medical center. This position requires a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery from any U.S. State. Qualified physicians and residents are welcome to apply. J1 & H1B Visas will also be considered for this position.
