Job summary

VA Fargo Healthcare System is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant-Urology to join the urology team. The PA will function as an extender to the supervising physician, providing patient care with defined autonomy within scope of practice.

The position involves clerical/documentation duties, patient education, rounds with the urology service, and participation in performance improvement activities. Schedule is 8:00am–4:30pm, with duties aligned to the Veterans Health Administration mission.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and follow-up history and physical examinations
• Screen outpatients and provide ongoing care
• Order diagnostic tests and consultations
• Accompany Urologist on daily rounds of inpatients
• Write discharge orders under the direction of the Urologist
• Provide education and counseling to patients and families
• Enter accurate and timely progress notes in the CPRS
• Maintain equipment and adhere to safety and infection control standards
• Assist in orientation of new staff and educate patients and families
• Participate in performance improvement activities and disaster preparedness
• Work Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm
